Just how tough are Bobskis new sledges?

We expect Bobskis sledges to be put through their paces. You can see the potential for this from the Boskis testing video. The video gives you an idea of how durable these sledges are. With such versatility and scope for adventure, Bobskis need to be tough.

But just how tough are Bobskis sledges?

To give you an idea, the Ford Mondeo Estate is a big heavy car. This picture shows our Ford Mondeo Estate backing on to a Bobski board, wedged up on a concrete block. We tried this a few times. The board bent a bit, as you would expect and can see in the picture. The Bobski did not break.
How tough is that?

Bobskis unique, unibody sledge design may look simple. In fact, Bobskis are at the very edge of what is technically possible with the material and moulding process. Bobskis are made of Polarpol™, a special lightweight plastic material with fantastic toughness at cold temperatures. The extruded design means that Bobskis lack the stress points that cause inherent weakness in injection moulded sledges, making them vulnerable to fracture. You won’t see broken Bobskis littering the slopes. Even the stickers are hi-tech; Bobskis use the same materials as used on oil drums in the North Sea. Without detracting from the thrill, Bobskis have integrated a number of important safety features into the sledge design including a soft leading edge, rounded corners, thick rope for comfort and control, and a shatterproof moulding to minimise impact risk.
