We expect Bobskis sledges to be put through their paces. You can see the potential for this from the Boskis testing video. The video gives you an idea of how durable these sledges are. With such versatility and scope for adventure, Bobskis need to be tough.
But just how tough are Bobskis sledges?
To give you an idea, the Ford Mondeo Estate is a big heavy car. This picture shows our Ford Mondeo Estate backing on to a Bobski board, wedged up on a concrete block. We tried this a few times. The board bent a bit, as you would expect and can see in the picture. The Bobski did not break.
How tough is that?
Bobskis unique, unibody sledge design may look simple. In fact, Bobskis are at the very edge of what is technically possible with the material and moulding process. Bobskis are made of Polarpol™, a special lightweight plastic material with fantastic toughness at cold temperatures. The extruded design means that Bobskis lack the stress points that cause inherent weakness in injection moulded sledges, making them vulnerable to fracture. You won’t see broken Bobskis littering the slopes. Even the stickers are hi-tech; Bobskis use the same materials as used on oil drums in the North Sea. Without detracting from the thrill, Bobskis have integrated a number of important safety features into the sledge design including a soft leading edge, rounded corners, thick rope for comfort and control, and a shatterproof moulding to minimise impact risk.
BOBSKIS - Fast, Fun, Funky, Simply Must Have NEW SLEDGE - If you like snow and you like sledging you will love these new sledges. Bobskis are really cool. They are light, fast, easy to use and virtually indestructable. Even the most accomplished snow-boarders will enjoy these sledges. Go on get one!

Bobskis - The fastest sledge on the market
We think that Bobskis are probably the fastest sledge (sleigh, sled, toboggan - call it what you will) on the market at the moment. We recently sent one to Cairngorm Mountain in Scotland for the resort to test. We were hoping to run a half-term promotion allowing people to try out a bobski in the sledge park. Guess what? Bobskis were just too fast. Bobskis are much faster than the traditional wooden sledges with metal runners often seen in resorts in Europe or the modern plastic equivalents that have become popular in the last couple of seasons (Snow Rodel, Snow Bob, Super Cruiser, Snow Tiger etc).
This is what makes them so flexible and great for just having fun anywhere. You don't need a special slope with compacted snow. You don't need a steep slope to go sledging or sledding. You don't actually need much snow. Bobskis go really well on gentle slopes, making it possible to go sledging or sledding in many more places. You don't have to be a speed merchant. It is possible to have great fun on a very gentle slope. The more adventurous can seek out thrills in many places. You don't have to head of too distant places. Bobskis are great for the UK where snow is rare. Especially great for more snowy places like USA, Canada, Germany, Norway, Sweden where there is lots of snow and the great outdoors but not every place is a ski resort.
Please remember that, for safety reasons, at Cairngorm Mountain you may only sledge in the designated area using the sledges provided. Thank you.

Bobskis Sledge Prototype Testing - Watch the Video
Bobskis have been testing out prototypes at locations near us - Trentham Gardens Monkey Forest - a gentle slope with a typical (for England) low key dollop of snow - and Brough Park at Leek - a bit steeper with a bit more snow but still just the local park.
Take a look at the video footage to get a feel for these new sledges. They are fast, easy to use and fun. Virtually unbreakable, they are so light you can take them anywhere. Very flexible, very manouverable. Go for a walk in the woods, slide along the path, avail your self of those little windows of opportunity for action, climb back on track no sweat, have fun, move on, find somewhere good, stay a while, you get the drift.
It is really great when the kids just get on with it. They don't complain. They don't "abandon sledge". They don't mither you to drag them up. They just get on with it. All you have to do is "curb their enthusiasm" and moderate to keep them safe. Its even easy enough for mum to have a go!
P.S. It doesn't take an enormous leap of imagination for the really cool to envisage how cool they might look on one of these.
